Women's Lacrosse Wins 1st Home Match

The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team improved to 2-6 on the season with a 15-10 win over West Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday, March 23.  The match was the Oilers first home contest of the year and was played at the Armstrong Sports Complex.

The Oilers fell behind by a score of 6-5 at the half, but dominated the second half with a 10-4 advantage in goals scored.  Sarah Lankton was all over the field and finished with seven goals and an assist.

Mackenzie Barnwell and Victoria Predmore tallied four and three goals apiece, respectively, while Olivia Porcaro also found the back of the net in the win.

The Oilers forced the action during the entire match as West Virginia Wesleyan racked up 35 fouls.  The Oilers also held a 36-27 advantage in shots and managed a 19-9 advantage in draw controls.

Lex Renner picked up the win for Findlay by making 12 saves.

The Oilers will host Baldwin Wallace on March 27 in an exhibition game beginning at 4:30 p.m. before resuming their regular season at Shepherd on March 30.
