Oilers Lacrosse Downed by Lake Erie

The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team was defeated 24-12 by Lake Erie College on Friday, April 19 in Painesville, Ohio.

The Oilers, who fell to 4-11 on the year with a 2-4 record in conference play with the loss, had trouble getting the ball past Storm goalie Katie Holden, who made 15 saves on 37 Findlay shots.

Sarah Lankton led the Oilers with four goals and an assist while Olivia Porcaro chipped in three scores.

Taylor Trice and Mackenzie Barnwell each had two goals apiece while Victoria Predmore found an open space in the net for one Findlay goal.

The Oilers led 20-18 in draw controls, but had a deficit of 17-11 in ground balls.

The Oilers will return home to host Alderson-Broaddus College on Sunday.  The league-contest is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at the Armstrong Sports Complex.
