Oilers Finish Regular Season with 21-5 Win Over Walsh

The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team finished their regular season with a 21-5 win over Walsh University on Sunday, April 28 at the Armstrong Sports Complex. 

The Oilers, who finished their first season with a perfect record at home, are now 6-11 on the year with a 4-4 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

Sarah Lankton led the team with six goals and four assists.  She also recorded 11 ground balls, nine draw controls and caused five turnovers in the victory.

Mackenzie Barnwell and Olivia Porcaro each found the back of the net four times while Victoria Predmore chipped in three scores.

Brandi Wright added two goals and an assist while Lauren Illencik and Taylor Trice each had one goal apiece.

Trice also added four assists and eight ground balls in the game.

Katie Poorman picked up the win for the Oilers in goal and recorded three saves.

The Oilers held a 40-10 advantage in the shot department and recorded 22 draws in the game.  They also held a 38-21 lead in ground balls in the win.

The team will now prepare for the 2013 GLIAC Tournament, which is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, April 30.  The Oilers will hit the road to take on Notre Dame (Ohio) College on Tuesday in the GLIAC quarterfinals.
