Lankton Named GLIAC Freshman of the Year

Sarah Lankton of the Oilers women's lacrosse team was named the 2013 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Freshman of the Year as the league office unveiled their awards on Friday, May 3.

Lankton, who also earned first team all-conference accolades, registered 71 goals in her first season with the Oilers to rank second in the GLIAC.  She is also second in the conference in draw controls (126) and caused turnovers (27).

The Carmel, Ind. native also racked up a total of 95 points, snatched 90 ground balls and scored a league-high 28 free position goals.

In addition, sophomore Jenah Eastep earned second team all-conference honors for Findlay.

Eastep started all 18 games for the Oilers and registered 38 ground balls.  She also caused ten turnovers and won six draws on the season.
