Oilers Lacrosse Wins GLIAC Opener 18-11

The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team posted an 18-11 win against Tiffin University on Wednesday, April 2 at Donnell Stadium. The victory gives the Oilers a 3-6 record on the year with a 1-0 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Oilers jumped out to a 14-1 lead at the break and then coasted through the second half for their first league win of the year.

Sophomore Sarah Lankton had a big game for the Oilers as she registered six goals, six ground balls, nine draw controls and four caused turnovers.

Freshman Nicole Stines also had great game for Findlay with six goals on only six shot attempts.

Sophomore Mackenzie Barnwell added three goals and three ground balls while freshman Kyra Bradley had two goals and two assists in the win.

Sophomore Katie Poorman recorded the win for the Oilers after making five saves.

The Oilers will be back at home on Friday to host Grand Valley State University at 7 p.m.
