Lankton Named GLIAC Player of the Week

UF sophomore Sarah Lankton was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week on April 8 for the second time this season.

Lankton, who also earned the honor on March 25, led the Oilers to a 2-1 record last week by scoring 12 goals in the three games. Lankton also tallied a total of 20 draw controls, 15 ground balls, nine caused turnovers and three assists during the week.

She had six goals, six ground balls, nine draw controls and four caused turnovers in the Oilers 18-11 win over Tiffin (4/2). Lankton then followed with a goal, five draw controls and four ground balls in the Oilers 19-8 loss against Grand Valley State (4/4) before ending the week with five goals, six draw controls and five ground balls in Findlay's 27-5 win over Ursuline (4/6).

The Carmel, Ind. native leads the GLIAC in draw controls (62) and caused turnovers (23) while ranking second in goals (41) and points (53).
