Wheeling Jesuit Nips Oilers 16-15

The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team lost by a score of 16-15 to Wheeling Jesuit University on Friday, April 11 in Wheeling, W. Va.

The Oilers held a 9-8 advantage at the break, but found themselves down one at 15-14 late in the second half. Sophomore Mackenzie Barnwell then tied the game with a free position goal at the 4:34 mark, but Wheeling Jesuit answered right back with what turned out to be the winning goal only 17 seconds later.

Freshman Kyra Bradley had four goals and two assists to lead Findlay while sophomore Sarah Lankton contributed three goals, three draw controls, two caused turnovers and an assist.

Sophomore Taylor Trice also scored two goals while sophomore Katie Poorman was charged with the loss by allowing 16 goals.  She also made six saves in the game.

The Oilers will be back out on the field again on Sunday when they travel to Urbana, Ohio to take on Urbana University at 1 p.m.
