Lake Erie Tops Oilers 22-11

The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team was defeated by a score of 22-11 on Saturday, April 19 against Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio.

The Oilers only trailed by an 11-7 score at the half, but the Storm broke the game open in the second period by scoring six straight goals to take a commanding 17-7 lead.  The big start for Lake Erie then proved too much for the Oilers to overcome as they fell to 6-9 on the season with the loss.

Freshman Erin Stacho led the team with four goals and three ground balls while sophomore Sarah Lankton added two scores, one assist, four ground balls and ten draw controls in the loss.

Freshman Kyra Bradley had two goals while sophomore Victoria Predmore, freshman Nicole Stines and freshman Allison Kelly each chipped in one goal apiece.

Sophomore Katie Poorman took the loss for Findlay, making eight saves in the game.

As a team, the Oilers out-shot the Storm by a 44-32 margin, but were only 1-of-13 on free position shot attempts.

The Oilers, who are 4-3 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), will host Notre Dame (Ohio) on Tuesday in their next game. The contest is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in Donnell Stadium.
