Lankton Named GLIAC Midfielder of the Year

2014 All-GLIAC Release

Sophomore Sarah Lankton was named the 2014 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Midfielder of the Year as the league office unveiled their annual postseason awards on May 2.

Lankton, who was also a first team all-conference performer for the Oilers this season, ranks second in the GLIAC with 68 goals.  The Carmel, Ind. native leads the GLIAC in draw controls (105), ground balls (74) and caused turnovers (40).  She also ranks second in the league with 91 total points and has racked up 139 goals in only 36 career games.

Last season Lankton earned first team all-conference honors and was named the GLIAC Freshman of the Year.

Freshman Kyra Bradley was also rewarded for her stellar play this season and earned first team all-conference accolades.  She has scored 56 goals on the year and also racked up 14 assists.

Freshman Nicole Stines and junior Jenah Eastep both earned second team all-conference honors for Findlay as well.

Stines has scored 44 goals on the season and has 61 draw controls. Eastep meanwhile only scored one goal, but she has racked up 38 ground balls and caused 15 turnovers from her defensive position.
