Oilers Lose Opener to St. Anselm

The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team opened their season with a 22-8 loss against Saint Anselm on Feb. 28 in Manchester, N.H.

The Oilers fell behind by a score of 14-3 in the first half and could not catch fire in the second period as Saint Anselm held a 38-15 advantage in the shot department.  Findlay also had 15 turnovers and were behind in draw controls by a 19-13 margin.

Sophomore Kyra Bradley, junior Mackenzie Barnwell and junior Sarah Lankton each had two goal apiece to lead the team. Lankton also had five draw controls while Barnwell recorded four.

Freshman Rachel Heath took the loss in the net after allowing 14 goals to go along with six saves. Freshman Brooke Eicher allowed eight goals and made seven saves as well.

The Oilers will be back in action again on March 3 at Merrimack. The game is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
