Oilers Lose To Merrimack 18-11

The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team lost to Merrimack College 18-11 on Tuesday, March 3 in North Andover, Mass.  The loss gives the Oilers a 0-2 record on the young season. 

The score was tied 8-8 at halftime, but unfortunately Merrimack's offense picked up in the second half and they held a 33-20 advantage in the shot department which led to their victory.  Merrimack also held an 18-13 advantage in draw controls and a 18-10 advantage in groundballs.    

 Rachel Heath took the loss in the net for the Oilers and had six saves in the process. 

Sarah Lankton helped lead the offense for the Oilers finishing the game with four shots, four draw controls and two goals scored.  Taylor Trice contributed three groundballs, one assist, one shot and one goal scored in the game.    

Olivia Sherman had four shots and two goals in the contest while Michelle Lortie added two shots and two goals. 

Kyra Bradley finished the game with four shots, four draw controls and one goal scored while Maddi Brown added one shot and one goal scored. 

The Oilers return to the field on Wednesday, March 4 as they face Stonehill College in North Easton, Mass.
