Oilers Blast Blue Knights, Win 23-2

The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team improved to 3-2 on the season with a 23-2 win at Urbana University on March 16.

The Oilers stormed out to a 17-0 start at the end of the first half and cruised through the second half to pick up the victory as 13 Findlay players scored in the game.

Findlay held a 40-7 advantage in shots and held a 24-3 edge in draw controls.

Sophomore Brooke Eicher picked up the win by allowing only no goals in the first half. Sophomore Rachel Heath made two saves and allowed two goals as well between the pipes.

Senior Sarah Lankton led the offense with four goals and three assists. She also recorded eight draw controls in the win.

Freshman Jacelyn Litman had three goals while senior Mackenzie Barnwell had two, pushing her to 101 career goals. Sophomore Maddi Brown and freshmen Graceann Conte, Natalie Hartel and Hannah Peebles also registered a pair of goals in the game.

The Oilers will now return home to host Tiffin University on Sunday, March 20 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) action. The game is scheduled to begin at 1pm inside the Armstrong Sports Complex.
