Oilers Win Big, 21-9 over Walsh

The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team claimed a 21-9 win over Walsh University on March 26 at the Armstrong Sports Complex, their sixth straight victory.

The Oilers dominated from the beginning and went up by a score of 15-3 at the break. They also held a 34-17 advantage in shots during the game and picked up 25 ground balls while the Cavaliers only secured 12.

Sophomore Olivia Sherman led the team with five goals while junior Kyra Bradley and senior Sarah Lankton each scored four. Lankton also recorded a team-high four assists to go with four ground balls, seven draw controls and one caused turnover.

Senior Taylor Trice had a great all-around game for Findlay as well. Trice had two goals, one assists, four ground balls, three draw controls and three caused turnovers.

Freshman Graceann Conte, senior Mackenzie Barnwell, freshman Natalie Hartel and freshman Emma Spellman each recorded a goal for Findlay too.

Sophomore Brooke Eicher picked up the victory by making two saves in the first half while fellow sophomore Rachel Heath registered one save in 26 minutes. Freshman Sam Mayer also got a turn in goal and recorded one save in three minutes of work.

The Oilers will now prepare to face Tiffin University on April 30 at 7pm in Tiffin, Ohio.
