The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team held on for a 13-12 win over McKendree University on April 29 at the Armstrong Sports Complex. The victory gives the Oilers a 9-7 record on the season with a 6-5 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
Senior Sarah Lankton had a big game for the Oilers with seven goals, eight draw controls and four ground balls while sophomore goalkeeper Rachel Heath established a new school record with 15 saves in the game.
Senior Taylor Trice contributed two goals and four ground balls while freshman Hannah Peebles connected on a pair of goals as well.
The Oilers were out-shot 34-26 and trailed 23-19 in ground balls, but still gutted out the victory.
The Oilers will be back at home on Sunday to host the University of Indianapolis at noon.
