Lankton, Heath Earn Weekly GLIAC Honors

The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team swept the weekly Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) awards as senior Sarah Lankton was named the player of the week and sophomore Rachel Heath was the defensive player of the week.

Lankton scored eight goals last week and added 16 draw controls, 11 ground balls and three caused turnovers. She began the week with seven goals and eight draws in the Oilers 13-12 win over McKendree on April 29. She then followed with one goal, one assist, eight draws and seven ground balls in Findlay's 13-11 victory over Indianapolis on May 1.

The Carmel, Ind. native ranks fourth in the GLIAC with 50 goals on the year and leads the league with 62 ground balls. She also ranks second in the conference with 93 draw controls and third in the league in caused turnovers with 25.

Heath picked up a pair of victories between the pipes, accumulating 22 saves in the wins. She recorded a school record 15 saves in the win over McKendree and racked up seven more in the victory against Indianapolis.

The Loveland, Ohio native has a 4-2 record this season for the Oilers and has accumulated 60 saves on the year.
