Oilers Fall in Overtime at Shippensburg

The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team fell 10-9 in overtime against Shippensburg University on March 10 in Shippensburg, Pa. The loss gives the Oilers a 1-3 record on the season.

The Raiders scored two goals in the final three minutes of regulation to tie the game at 9-9 and force overtime. The Raiders would then tack on the game-winner at the 3:10 mark of the extra session.

Sophomore Brie Caruso led the way with three goals and four draw controls while senior Allison Kelly, sophomore Hannah Peebles and freshman Ciara Burud had two goals apiece. Peebles and Burud each caused two turnovers while Kelly picked up three ground balls.

Sophomore Claire Ferrell picked up the loss in goal for Findlay. She made 11 saves.

The Oilers will be back in action again tomorrow when they remain on the road to face 15th-ranked Lock Haven at 3 p.m.
