Oilers Score 13-4 Win over Shepherd

The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team improved to 3-0 at home this year with a 13-4 win over Shepherd on March 27 at the Armstrong Sports Complex. The victory pushes the Oilers record to 4-5 on the year.

The Oilers jumped out to a 7-3 lead at the break and dominated the second half by out-scoring Shepherd 6-1. Findlay forced Shepherd into 24 turnovers and held a 30-16 advantage in the shot department. They also picked up 35 ground balls in the win.

Senior Kyra Bradley led the team with five goals while junior Oliva Sherman and sophomore Brie Caruso each scored three. Sherman added four draw controls and two assists while Caruso picked up three ground balls had had two draws.

Freshman Ciara Burud was a force on the defensive end with eight ground balls and five caused turnovers while sophomore Annie Painter recorded four ground balls in the game.

The Oilers will be back in action again on April 1 when they host West Virginia Wesleyan at 2pm.
