The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team fell 15-14 to Lake Erie College in an overtime thriller on April 23 at the Armstrong Sports Complex. The loss gives the Oilers a 7-8 record on the season with a 2-3 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Oilers fell behind by a score of 4-1 in the first 12 minutes of the game, but battled back to enter the break down only one at 6-5. Lake Erie then went up 7-5 early in the second half before the Oilers answered with four straight goals to take a 9-7 lead.

Findlay would hold a 14-12 lead with just over seven minutes remaining in regulation, but Lake Erie stormed back to tie the game at 14-14 with only a minute to play. The two teams would then remain scoreless through overtime until Taylor Mathis ended the game with only 16 ticks remaining in the extra session.

Sophomore Brie Caruso had three goals and an assist to lead the way while junior Olivia Sherman added three goals and five draw controls.

Freshman Ciara Burud contributed three goals and four draw controls, sophomore Hannah Peebles had two goals and an assist and senior Kyra Bradley recorded two goals and an assist.

The Oilers will be back in action again on April 28 when they hit the road to face McKendree University at 4 pm.
