Oilers Fall at McKendree | Ferrell Sets Record

The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team fell 19-10 to McKendree University on April 28 in Lebanon, Ill. The loss gives the Oilers a 7-9 record on the season with a 2-4 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Bearcats put the pressure on early and often as they out-shot the Oilers 50-25. They also held a 23-14 advantage in ground balls during the game.

Senior Kyra Bradley led the team with four goals. Junior Olivia Sherman and freshman Ciara Burud each added two goals as well.

Freshman Claire Ferrell established a new school record with 17 saves in the game and the Oilers set a new team record with those 17 saves. Junior Rachel Heath previously established the old school record with 15 saves against McKendree on April 29, 2016, almost one year ago to the day.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Sunday when they face the University of Indianapolis at noon in Indianapolis, Ind.
