Oilers Advance to Championship with 18-7 Win

The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team advanced to the championship game of the 2019 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Tournament with an 18-7 win over Walsh University on May 2 in Tiffin, Ohio.

The Oilers held an 8-4 lead at the half and broke the game open in the second, outscoring the Cavaliers 10-3 in the final 30 minutes of action.

Senior Brie Caruso led the way with six goals and two assists while senior Hannah Peebles scored one goal and established a school record with eight assists.

Sophomore Allie Kasprzyk came off the bench to provide a huge spark and contributed four goals and an assist while junior Ciara Burud had four goals, four ground balls, and six draw controls.

Senior Claire Ferrell picked up the win by making seven saves in goal.

As a team, the Oilers outshot the Cavaliers 38-20 and were successful on 14-of-15 clear attempts.

The Oilers will now play for the championship on May 4 at 1pm in Tiffin, Ohio against Tiffin University.
