Regional Wrestling Tournament Coming To Findlay

Some of the best wrestling programs in the nation will be competing in Findlay, Ohio on February 25-26 as the Roughnecks will host the NCAA Division II Super Regional 2 Tournament in the Malcolm Athletic Center. The event will begin at 10 am on both Friday and Saturday.

13 teams will compete in the event, including four teams who are ranked in the top-20 of the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) poll.

#1 Nebraska-Omaha, who has won the last two national championships, enters the event with three individuals ranked at the top of their respective weight classes. Senior Mario Morgan is the top ranked wrestler in the 141-pound weight class, junior Esai Dominquez is #1 at 149 and sophomore George Ivanov is currently the best in the 157-pound weight class.

All three were national runner-ups last season at the national championship.

In addition, seniors Ryan Pankoke (174) and Aaron Denson (184) are ranked third while sophomore Matt Baker (197) checks in fourth in the national rankings.

#5 Central Oklahoma will also be looking to make some noise at the tournament and will rely on freshman Cory Dauphin and junior Jarrett Edison who are both ranked fifth in the 157-pound and 197-pound weight classes, respectively.

In addition, sophomores Trison Graham (133) and Derrick Adkins (165) are ranked sixth and eighth, respectively, in their weight classes.

#12 Ashland enters the event being led by junior heavyweight Jacob Southwick, who is ranked fifth nationally while #15 Findlay will pin its hopes on juniors Michael Lybarger and Matt Clum, who are ranked third and seventh in the 165-pound and 285-pound weight classes, respectively.
