#7 Roughnecks Go 1-1 at SIUE
The University of Findlay wrestling team, ranked seventh in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) poll, went 1-1 at the Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville Duals on Sunday, December 19 in Edwardsville, Illinois. The Roughnecks defeated the host school 26-18 and dropped a 25-6 decision to Northern Illinois University.
Michael Lybarger and Dan Stevenson each won both of their matches to lead the team.
Lybarger defeated Southern Illinois-Edwardsville's Gabe Hocum by major decision, 16-2, and then came back with a 7-1 win against Northern Illinois' Matt Mougin in the 165-pound weight class.
Stevenson meanwhile defeated Robert Cooney of Southern Illinois-Edwardsville by a score of 6-2 and then captured a tough, 2-0 victory over Mike Lukowski of Northern Illinois at 197.
