Sergent Leads #14 Roughnecks at Michigan State

The University of Findlay wrestling team, ranked 14th in the nation, completed the Michigan State Open on Saturday, November 12 in East Lansing, Michigan.

Ben Sergent led the way and placed fifth in the open division of the 125-pound weight class. 

Sergent scored a pin in only 13 seconds during his opening match against Edinboro's Kory Mines before taking a loss in the quarterfinal.  He then scored two consecutive pins and ended up defeating Michigan State's Brenan Lyon by a 9-3 decision to finish fifth with a 4-1 record.

The Roughnecks also received wins from Chris Andrews, Jan Ulinski, Mason True and Michael Lybarger during the event.

The Roughnecks will hit the mats again on December 2 at the University of Pitt-Johnstown.
