#17 Roughnecks Finish Newberry Duals with 3-1 Record
The University of Findlay wrestling team, ranked 17th in the nation, went 3-1 at the Newberry Duals on Saturday, December 10 in Newberry, South Carolina.
The Roughnecks defeated North Carolina-Pembroke by a score of 26-13, won 25-18 over Limestone and were victorious by a 34-12 margin against Anderson. Their only loss came at the hands of #1 Newberry by a score of 31-9.
Michael Lybarger, the top-ranked wrestler in the 174-pound weight class, led the Roughnecks by going 4-0 at the event. Lybarger scored two major decisions, had a pin and won by decision during the afternoon competition.
Ben Sergent, the eighth ranked grappler in the 125-pound weight class, also went undefeated for the Roughnecks as well after posting a 4-0 record at the meet. He won by forfeit, scored two pins and came away with an overtime victory against Newberry.
Nick Wiesjahn and Adam Walters aided the Roughnecks cause by posting 3-1 records at the event.
