#19 Roughnecks Win 18-16 Over #14 Hilltoppers

The University of Findlay wrestling team, ranked 19th in the country, came away with an 18-16 win over #14 West Liberty State University on Friday, January 27 in West Liberty, West Virginia.

Ben Sergent, the eighth-ranked grappler in the 125-pound weight class, got the Roughnecks off to a great start with a pin over Joe Wagstaff in 1:29.

At 149, Jeremy Espinoza captured a 9-3 win over A.J. Gavin while Michael Lybarger, Adam Walters and Ashton Brown each won their matches to round out the victors for Findlay.

Lybarger, the second-ranked wrestler in the 174-pound weight class, earned a 5-1 win over Matt Littleton while Adam Walters, the sixth-ranked grappler at 184, won 3-2 over Derrick Williams.

Brown then captured an 8-5 win over Jacob Donley at 197 to provide Findlay with enough points to win the match.
