Brackets Set for National Championship
The brackets have been set for the 2012 NCAA Division II Wrestling National Championship, which is scheduled to take place on March 9-10 in Pueblo, Colo.
Sophomore Ben Sergent (31-9), ranked fifth, will kick things off in the 125-pound weight class against Minnesota State-Mankato's David Demo (25-11) before senior Jeremy Espinoza (10-8) battles #1 Nate Herda (21-2) of Augustana.
At 165, junior Mason True (24-14), who is ranked fifth nationally, will battle Justin Samora (15-12) of Adams State.
Senior Michael Lybarger (26-7), who is the second-ranked grappler in the 174-pound weight class, will be looking for his second consecutive national championship as he begins the event with a bout against Upper Iowa's Wade Gobin (30-14).
Gobin is ranked sixth nationally.
#7 Adam Walters (21-9), a sophomore, will face Kutztown's Giovanni Ortiz (17-13) in the 184-pound weight class while junior Andrew Tumlin (22-11) is set to square off against #2 Jake Kahnke (33-2) of St. Cloud State in the heavyweight division.
