The University of Findlay Roughnecks completed day one of the NCAA DII National Championships on Friday, March 8 in Birmingham, Ala.

In the 285 pound class, Andrew Tumlin is currently 2-1 winning by pin (1:02) his first win, and 5-4 decision in his second.

184-pounder, Adam Walters, who was the 2013 GLIAC Wrestler of the year and runner up at nationals last year, was also 2-1 in the first day of competition. His victories came via 15-8 decision and 11-6 decision.

2012 All-American Ben Sergent, and 2012 national runner up Mason True were eliminated in the first day of competition.

The 16th ranked Roughnecks have 11.5 points, and are are currently tied in 19th place with Ashland University. St. Cloud State holds the lead with 60.5 total points.

The National Championships will conclude tomorrow.
