Roughnecks to Host GLIAC Championship on Saturday

The University of Findlay wrestling program will host the 2014 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championship on Saturday, Feb. 1 in Croy Gymnasium.

The championship will consist of 17th-ranked Ashland University, The University of Findlay, Lake Erie College and Tiffin University.

Ashland is led by Bryson Hall, who is ranked second nationally in the 184-pound weight class.  The Eagles will also have two other nationally ranked wrestlers competing at the event as well.  Michael Labry is ranked third at 133 and Joe Brandt checks in sixth at 197.

The Oilers are led by Adam Walters, who is ranked second in the nation in the 174-pound weight class with an impressive 25-2 record thus far.

Lake Erie is led by Zak Vargo, who is ranked third nationally in the 157-pound weight class, while Tiffin has the fourth-ranked grappler in the heavyweight division in Kevin Christman.

The first matches of the championship will begin at 10 a.m.
