UF Wrestlers Earn Academic All-American Accolades

The University of Findlay wrestling earned All-Academic honors from the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA), finishing seventh in the nation with a team grade point average of 3.280.

Individually, red-shirt freshman Bradley Metz (3.73), senior Ben Sergent (3.50) and senior Adam Walters (3.17) were selected as first team academic All-Americans.

Sophomore Alec Bissell (3.68) and red-shirt freshman Dalton Nicely (3.11) also received accolades, earning honorable mention status.

In order for a student-athlete to be nominated to the Division II Academic All-American team, he needs to have a GPA of over 3.00.

Overall, 181 student-athletes earned the award across the nation.
