Roughnecks Finish EMU Open on Saturday
The University of Findlay wrestling team completed the Eastern Michigan Open on Saturday, Nov. 15 in Ypsilanti, Mich.
The Roughnecks were led by sophomore Joey White, who placed fifth in the 157-pound weight class with a 5-1 record. He claimed fifth place with a 5-3 win over Eastern Michigan's Justin Melick.
Sophomore Schuyler Phillips went 4-3 in the 125-pound weight class to claim eighth place while junior Jordan Cowell went 3-2 in the 157-pound weight class.
Sophomore Ryan Skonieczny finished the event with a 3-2 record in the 141-pound division while freshman Joshua Wimer (133), sophomore Dalton Nicely (149) and sophomore Nick Goebel (149) all finished the open with 2-2 records in their respective weight classes.
The Roughnecks will return to the mats again on Nov. 23 at the King Open in Bristol, Tenn.
