Wimer Named GLIAC Freshman of the Year

UF Roughneck Josh Wimer was named the 2015 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Freshman of the Year as the league office unveiled their annual awards on Feb. 23.

Wimer currently has a 30-12 record in his first season with the program, which includes eight victories by pin fall. He was also tabbed the GLIAC Wrestler of the Week on Jan. 14 and earned second team all-conference honors for the 2014-15 campaign in the 133-pound weight class.

Sophomore Nick Goebel, who has a 28-8 record for the Roughnecks this season at 149, earned first team all-conference accolades while sophomore Joey White (157), sophomore Nic Skonieczny (165) and sophomore Luke Fleming (285) each were tabbed second team all-GLIAC in their respective weight classes.

White has a 29-11 record, Skonieczny has posted a 20-14 mark and Fleming has achieved a 9-5 record this season for Findlay.
