Roughnecks Compete at Ranger Duals

Kenosha, WI – The University of Findlay wrestling team finished 1-2 at the Ranger Duals held in Kenosha, Wisconsin on Saturday, Jan 16. The Roughnecks lost their first matchup with Augustana by an 18-15 final then defeated #19 McKendree 25-12 in round two. In their final bout, the Roughnecks fell to the nation's number six as Wisconsin-Parkside was able to beat Findlay 27-13.

The number one wrestler in the nation at 149 pounds, Rougneck junior Nick Goebel, finished the event with a perfect 3-0 record. In his final bout of the day, Goebel took down the nation's #5 at 149 pounds, Frank Yattoni of Wisconsin-Parkside. Goebel won that match by major decision, 10-2.

Junior Joey White, currently #7 in the nation at 157 pounds, also finished the event 3-0. He won his first matchup in a tight 2-1 decision over Shawn Hatlestad of Augustana then finished the day with wins of 6-1 and 7-3.
