Roughnecks Take Down #18 Indianapolis
Indianapolis, IN - The University of Findlay wrestling team, ranked #14 in the country, took on the #18 UIndy Greyhounds in a dual on Friday, Jan. 22. The Roughnecks were victorious in the event, scoring 23 points to UIndy's 12.
Findlay won six of the ten matches in the event. The Roughnecks' victory was headlined by the effort of 141 pound sophomore Ryan Skonieczny who was able to dominate his opponent by tech fall with a 23-8 score.
Still ranked #1 in the nation at 149 pounds, junior Nic Goebel continued with his winning ways, taking down Neal Molloy with a major decision, 12-4, while teammate Joey White, the nation's #7 at 157 pounds, defeated Heath Lange by a score of 5-1.
The Roughnecks also got a major decision victory from sophomore Randy Caris at 184 pounds. He blanked Duane Deerwester 12-0.
