Goebel, Metz Earn 1st Team All-GLIAC Honors

Senior Nick Goebel and junior Bradley Metz were each named first team all-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) on Feb. 22.

Goebel, who is the top-ranked wrestler in the nation in the 149-pound weight class, has a 17-0 record this season for the Roughnecks. Goebel is also ranked fifth nationally in the NCAA Division II Most Dominant Wrestler standings.

The Bloomdale, Ohio native was also tabbed first team all-conference during the 2015 campaign. He has been a NCAA Division II All-American in each of the past two seasons as well.

Metz is ranked fourth nationally at 174. He has recorded a 24-6 record this year and this is his first all-conference accolade since achieving second team honors during the 2014 campaign.

In addition, senior Luke Fleming and sophomores Devin Rogers, Josh Wimer and Alonzo Turner earned second team all-league honors.

Fleming has produced a 24-12 record for Findlay this season at 285. Rogers meanwhile has an 18-18 record this year at 133.

Wimer, who was voted the 2015 GLIAC Freshman of the Year, has a 30-10 record. He was also a second team all-league pick during the 2015 campaign as well.

Turner has registered a 31-10 record this season in the 165-pound weight class.
