#12 Roughnecks Complete Findlay Open

The University of Findlay wrestling program, ranked 12th in the nation, hosted their annual Findlay Open on Nov. 18 in the Koehler Fitness and Recreation Complex.

Mimmo Lytle led the Roughnecks by taking first in the 285-pound weight bracket. Lytle finished the event with a perfect 5-0 record. He reached the finals with an 11-1 major decision win over Wheeling Jesuit's Terrance Fanning and then won the class with a forfeit win over Kameron Teacher from Notre Dame (Ohio).

Bradley Metz finished as the runner-up in the 184-pound weight class as he finished the event with a 4-1 record. Metz reached the finals with a 12-3 major decision victory over Indianapolis' Brody Conner in the semifinals before falling 3-2 in the finals to Tony Vezzetti of Notre Dame (Ohio).

Devin Rogers finished as the runner-up in the 149-pound weight class with a 3-1 record as he fell 5-3 in the finals against Indianapolis' Kyle Barkovich.

Armani Robinson took third place in the 197-pound weight class with a 4-1 record. He claimed the bronze after defeating Gannon's Ethan Budd by a 3-1 margin.

James Wimer finished fourth at 157 with a 3-2 record, Alonzo Turner took fifth at 165 with a 6-1 mark and Nate Vandermeer placed fifth at 174 with a 5-1 record.

The Roughnecks will be back in action again on Dec. 2 when they compete in the Wisconsin Open.
