Oilers fall to Tennesee Tech in season opener

The University of Findlay Women's soccer team lost 3-1 to the Golden Eagles of Tennessee Tech on Friday September 6 at DeHaven Field.

Tennessee Tech, a NCAA Division I foe, jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the second half before the Oilers scored their first goal.

Senior Katie Burke scored the Oilers lone goal at the 69:43 mark.  She was assisted by senior Sarah Silone

Senior goalkeeper Kelsea Corns had seven saves for the Oilers in the net, taking the loss in the process.

Both teams had 14 shots during the game and the Golden Eagles held a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks. 

The Oilers start off the season at 0-1 and they face Saint Josephs (Ind.) on Sunday at noon at DeHaven Field.
