The University of Findlay women's soccer team defeated the St. Joseph's Pumas 2-1 on Sunday, September 8 at DeHaven Field to earn their first victory of the season.
The Oilers jumped out to a 1-0 lead at the 60 minute mark when senior Katie Burke scored on a penalty kick.
The Puma's lone goal of the game came from Sarah Johnson at the 67 minute mark to tie the game.
The game-winning goal occurred at the 81 minute mark when Katie Burke scored her second goal of the game. Her goal was assisted by junior Eryn Weber.
Findlay dominated offensively with a 17-5 advantage in shots.
Goalkeeper Kelsea Corns picked up the win in the process and had three saves in the game.
The Oilers, who improved to 1-1 on the year, will face Urbana on the road on Thursday at 4 p.m.
