Oilers Lose To Cardinals 3-1

The University of Findlay women's soccer team lost to Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) opponent Saginaw Valley State University 3-1 on Thursday, October 31 in University Center, Michigan. 

The Cardinals jumped out to a 1-0 lead when Presley Tibbetts scored off of an assist by Jennifer Goethals at the 6 minute mark.

The Cardinals extended their lead when Goethals scored at the 11 minute mark.  Then, at the 14 minute mark, Ashley Henderson scored off of an assist by Goethals. 

The Oilers got on the board when senior Sarah Silone scored unassisted at the 19 minute mark. 

The Cardinals had the edge offensively with a 25-12 advantage in the shot department. 

Findlay goalkeepers Samantha Trimboli and Kelsea Corns took the loss in the net and had a combined seven saves in the process.

The Oilers, who are now 7-8-2 on the year with a 3-6-2 mark in GLIAC play, will face GLIAC foe Northwood (Mich.) University on Saturday, November 2 in Midland, Michigan at 12 p.m.
