Women's Soccer Picked to Finish 9th

2014 GLIAC Women's Soccer Preseason Poll

The University of Findlay women's soccer team was picked to finish ninth in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) this season as the league office unveiled their preseason poll on Aug. 19.

Findlay received 59 points in the poll while Grand Valley State University was tabbed the early favorite after accumulating 141 points and ten first place votes.  The Lakers have won three out of the past five NCAA Division II national championships.

The Oilers finished last season with an 8-8-2 record and will look to improve on that mark in 2014 behind the leadership of first team all-conference performer, Eryn Weber.  Weber led the Oilers with nine goals and a total of 22 points last season.

Junior Kirsten Fruchey will also be back after scoring four goals in 2013 while senior Danielle Hart returns after posting a team-high five assists.
