Oilers Lose Close One To Cedarville 2-1

The University of Findlay women's soccer team lost a tough battle against Cedarville University in double overtime 2-1 on Tuesday, September 23 at DeHaven Field. 

The Oilers jumped out to a 1-0 lead when senior Eryn Weber scored off a header shot at the 45 minute mark. 

Cedarville tied up the contest when Elise Hurley scored at the 85 minute mark. 

The game went down to the wire and Cedarville came up victorious in the second overtime period when they scored at the very last second.

Findlay goalkeeper Samantha Trimboli took the loss in the net and had six saves in the process. 

Cedarville had the edge offensively with a 11-10 advantage in shots.

The Oilers, who are now 3-2 on the year, will travel to Canton, Ohio to face Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) foe Malone University on Friday, September 26.
