Soccer to Honor New Members of Wall of Fame

Each year, UF's greatest soccer players will be recognized and memorialized at DeHaven Field. The selection committee will decide which player or players will be permanently honored with a plaque on the Oiler Soccer Wall of Fame. The 2014 class of inductees is as follows:

Amy (Pirschel) Sidner played for the women's soccer team from 1987-1990 and graduated from The University of Findlay in 1991 with a degree in elementary education. She also lettered four times in softball. Amy was a two-time team captain and primarily served as a defender who played in 68 games, scoring five goals. She was named a NAIA honorable mention All-American in 1990, earned first team all-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Region honors and was a NSCAA second team all-Great Lakes Region selection. She also received the 1991 Iggy Mancuso Award, which is awarded annually at Findlay to the most outstanding student-athlete.

Michael Cramer played for the men's soccer team from 1990-1993 and graduated from The University of Findlay in 1994 with a degree in history. Mike played sweeper and scored 12 goals.  He also added three assists in 52 career games during his three years on the varsity (he was unable to play his junior year because of a medical red-shirt.) Mike was accorded second team District 22 honors in 1991 and was honorable mention in 1990 and 93. He was team MVP in 1991 and captain in 1993.

Rebekah (Kemp) Wiles played for the women's soccer team from 1991-1994 and graduated from The University of Findlay in 1995 with a degree in Mathematics. She also lettered in basketball and track while at Findlay. From her sweeper position, Rebekah scored 24 goals and added 9 assists in 78 appearances for the Oilers. Rebekah was a NSCAA first team All-American in 1993 and 94 and a NSCAA second team All-American in 1992.  She was also a NAIA second team All-American in 1992, 93 and 94. She was voted to the NAIA All-Tournament team in 1994 and was named the 1995 NAIA Female Athlete of the Year by College Sports Magazine. She was team captain all four years and team MVP in 1991, 92 and 94.

Mark Steinmetz played for the men's soccer team from 1994-1997 and graduated from The University of Findlay in 1998 with a degree in environmental safety and occupational health. Mark played forward and midfield and scored 38 goals to go along with 16 assists in 71 career games. Mark was honored as first team all-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference pick in 1997 and was an honorable mention Mid-Ohio Conference selection in 1994, 96 and 97. He was also honorable mention Umbro All-American Midwest Region in 1996. He was team captain in 1996 and 97 and was voted the team MVP in 1995, 96 and 97.

The ceremony will take place between the women's and men's game on Sunday, Sep. 28 and is tentatively scheduled for 2 p.m.
