Women's Soccer Ties Ferris State 1-1

The University of Findlay women's soccer team ­­­­ tied Ferris State University on Sep. 27 at DeHaven Field. The draw gives the Oilers a 1-5-2 record on the season with a 0-2-1 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The match's first goal was scored by Ferris State player Carly Dubbert when she finished a header from a cross by teammate Merdith Smith.  The Oilers retaliated in the last 4 minutes of the first half when senior captain Katelyn Anderson scored on the top of the box tying the score at halftime.

The women dominated offensively over the Bulldogs outshooting them 9:4 for shots on goal. The Oiler defense, led by senior captain Emma Owens, trapped Ferris State offsides a total of 5 times. Sophomore goal keeper Bre Parrish kept the Oilers in the game with a pivotal save off a Ferris State breakaway in the last 8 minutes of the game and again in overtime. This tie drops the Bulldog's record to 7-2-1 on the season.

The women play their next match on the road against Walsh University in North Canton, Ohio at 7pm.
