The University of Findlay women's soccer team lost 1-0 to Northwood University in Midland, Michigan Friday, Oct. 16. This loss brings the team's record to 1-9-3 on the season with a 0-6-2 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
The Oilers were down the beginning of the first half with Northwood scoring their first goal in the 2nd-minute of play. Findlay outshot the Timberwolves 14-8 overall in the game but were unable to rebuttal with a goal. Senior captain Kate Prewitt and freshman Marissa Swindell had shots on goal for the Oilers. Senior captain Katelyn Anderson also managed 2 shots on goal for the team. Anderson now leads the team in goals scored with 5 on the season.
The UF defense stayed strong the remainder of the game to catch the Timberwolves offside 4 times. Sophomore goal keeper Bre Parrish had 3 saves for the Oilers in goal.
The women play next in an away game on Sunday, Oct. 18 against Saginaw Valley State University in University Center, Michigan at 12pm.
