Swindell Scores in 4-1 Loss Against Eagles

The University of Findlay women's soccer team lost 4-1 to the Ashland University Eagles Friday, Oct.  23 at DeHaven Field.  This loss brings their record to 1-11-3 on the season, with a 0-8-2 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

Sophomore midfielder Jensen Kleis had a pivotal shot on goal in the 26th-minute for the team, but it was blocked at the goal line by Ashland. Her attempt was assisted by senior captain Kendall Kwiatkowski.

Freshman forward Marissa Swindell scored the Oilers lone goal with 7 minutes left in the second half. The finish gives Swindell a total of 4 goals scored on the season, making her the second highest scorer on the team.

The Findlay defense succeeded in trapping the Eagles offside a total of 5 times. Senior goal keeper SchauDon Herd made her third game appearance in the second half.

The women play next on Sunday, Oct. 25 in an away match against Lake Erie College at 1pm in Painesville, Ohio.
