Evansville, IN- The University of Findlay women's soccer team was defeated by Southern Indiana 5-1 on Friday, September 2 at Strassweg Field. This loss gives the Oilers a 0-1 record to the start of the season, while Southern Indiana goes 1-0.
In the first fifteen minutes, the Eagles capitalized on three goals. Then, in the sixteenth minute, junior Lindsey Roeth countered with a goal, with an assist from sophomore Claire Lasceski, to make the score 3-1. In the last seven minutes of the first half, Southern Indiana scored another goal, making the halftime score 4-1.
Findlay's defense kept the Eagles out of the net in the second half until the final minute until Southern Indiana scored from inside the box, making the final score 5-1.
The Oilers will be back on the pitch on Sunday, September 4 in Evansville, IN against Illinois-Springfield at 12:30pm.
