Findlay Drops Match to Cedarville

Cedarville, OH – The University of Findlay women's soccer team fell to Great Midwest Athletic Conference opponent Cedarville University in an 0-2 final on Saturday, September 23. The loss drops the Oilers to 2-7 on the season with a 1-4 record in the G-MAC.

The Yellow Jackets took the lead early in the first half and entered halftime up 1-0 on the Oilers. The Cedarville defense limited Findlay to just two shots on goal during the period.

Cedarville struck again early in the second half to bring the score to the eventual 2-0 final. The Oilers were not able to find the back of the net despite their five shots on goal during the second period.

The Oilers attempted 12 shots during the match, with seven of those being on goal. Findlay also attempted five corner kick opportunities.

Sophomore Sierra Peacock led Findlay in shots on goal with two and sophomore goal keeper Anna Money recorded eight saves on the night.

Findlay will be back on the pitch Thursday, September 28 when they travel to Davis & Elkins College for a G-MAC contest set to begin at 5:00 PM.
