Box Score

Philippi, WV – The University of Findlay women's soccer team dropped a Great Midwest match to Alderson Broaddus on Saturday, September 30. The loss brings Findlay's record to 3-8 overall and 2-5 in G-MAC play.

The Oilers came out of the gates strong in the first half thanks to a goal from freshman Karleigh Clere in the 11th minute on an assist from senior Lindsey Roeth. This was Clere's fourth goal of the season.

Findlay was able to fend off the Battlers' offense in the first period with the help of junior Anna Money and her two saves.

Alderson Broaddus went on to tie the match in the 60th minute to bring the score to a 1-1 deadlock. With the end of regulation the Oilers entered a sudden death overtime period for the second match in a row.

The tie would not last long, as the Battlers were able to knock in the game-winning goal just over four minutes into the first overtime period.

The Oilers attempted 10 shots with six shots on goal during the contest. Clere lead the shots on goal category with three, while junior Megan Kupetz, junior Karis Dewalt, and Roeth each added on of their own.

Findlay will be back on the pitch Thursday, October 5 when they host Walsh for another G-MAC conference matchup. The contest is set to begin at 4:00 PM.
