Oilers Fall 3-1 to Lake Erie

Painesville, OH – The University of Findlay women's soccer team fell to the Lake Erie College Storm 3-1 in G-MAC play l on Wednesday, October 11. The loss brings the Oilers to a 3-11 (2-8) record while the Storm improve to 4-7-1 (3-5-1).

The Oilers went down early in the match, giving up goals to Lake Erie in the 7th and 20th minute in the first period.

Findlay cut the lead down to 2-1 before halftime when junior Megan Kupetz scored her third goal of the season from 15 yards out on an assist from sophomore Sierra Peacock. The assist was Peacock's second on the year.

Lake Erie added a third goal midway through the second period, bringing the score to the 3-1 final in favor of the Storm.

The Oilers attempted 27 shots to Lake Erie's 13, which is Findlay's highest number of shots in a match this season. Findlay also recorded 12 shots on goal and had six corner kick opportunities. Sophomore Anna Money recorded five saves in front of the net for the Oilers during the match.

Findlay will continue Great Midwest play on Saturday, October 14 when they travel to take on the Ursuline College Arrows. The contest is set to begin at 11:30 AM.
