Ahbe Named Defensive Player of the Week

Findlay, Ohio - Although her efforts do not necessarily appear in the box score, sophomore defender Lindsey Ahbe has been named as the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career on Monday, Oct. 29.

A native of Green, Ohio, Ahbe was the leader of the Findlay defense which allowed just one goal in two games this week. Against Tiffin, the Oilers needed a win to earn a first-round playoff game at home and later in the week, Ahbe helped Findlay shutout rival Ohio Dominican to advance to the second round of the postseason for the first time since joining the ranks of NCAA Division II.

Ahbe and the Oilers will be back in action when they take on top-seeded Ohio Valley on Thursday at noon. The remainder of the tournament will be hosted by Ohio Valley but will be played at Marietta College due to poor field conditions at OVU.
