Oilers Take First Loss of Season | Head Home from Florida

Winter Haven, Fl.The University of Findlay women's soccer team wrapped up their trip to Florida and their second game of the season on Saturday, Aug. 27 against the Embry-Riddle Eagles at the Barker Family Stadium on the campus of Rollins College. Findlay started their trip with a two-day venture with the Rollin Tars in which resulted in a tie. Embry-Riddle is chosen to finish first in the Sunshine State Conference and also received votes in the United Soccer Coaches Top-25.

The Eagles put themselves on the board with an early 4th minute goal to give them a 1-0 lead.   

Coming out of halftime, Embry-Riddle would add another goal in the 48th minute to give them a 2-0 lead shortly after starting the second half. In the 59th minute of the contest junior Ellie Tischler found the back of the net off an assist from freshman Payton Miller for the Oilers first goal of the season.  

Junior goalkeeper Kennedy Slovak remained consistent in the goal and recorded four saves in the contest. 

Embry-Riddle's record moves to 2-0-0 while Findlay now holds a 0-1-1 record. The Oilers will be back on the pitch on Saturday, Sept 3. at home against Ill. Springfield at 4pm.
